Flashback to My Summer: Audeum

Hey! Here's a glimpse of what I did over the summer~ I definitely had an unexpected yet eventful summer :)

There were two internship opportunities that came my way when I thought I had nothing to do over the summer apart from college apps..! Apart from reuniting with my siblings and continuing to anonymously drop off flowers in public, the first job experience that I got to have was interning at the world's first audio museum, Audeum! Sounds cool – right?

I will confirm that it was a cool & MIND BLOWING experience. As I was sitting in the dark audio room alone before the opening hours, I just savored every bit of sound that I heard through the speakers – including the silence that seemed to block every sound from the bustling city. It was a time to find myself in silence & beautiful music! (Now that I've experienced such high quality, I can no longer find satisfaction in the Samsung buds that I've been using for a couple of years now, haha)

But of course, there was work: I worked as a translator and foreigner service researcher during my time at Audeum. This included translating the docents' scripts from Korean to English and visiting other museums in Korea to adapt their foreigner service to Audeum.

Honestly? It was the perfect job for me. At first, I feared entering museums alone; what was I supposed to do, anyway? But I soon found the beauty of self-traveling and admiring what each museum presented. Some museums were the ones I've never visited despite being right in front of my house.

Overall, it was such a meaningful experience for me, opening my scope to not only the Audio industry but also appreciating spending time alone and various museums in Korea! I would love to do this every summer.
