2023 Summer: The ROKAF SAMA Friendship Dinner

On August 2nd, 2023, I was invited by the Korean Air Force Department to sing in a choir representing International Schools in Korea at the ROKAF SAMA Friendship Dinner. This event was intended to form friendly Diplomatic relationships with Military Diplomats from different countries, and we were the very first performers who would officially begin the event.

Three weeks before the performance, I was personally contacted by the Korean Air Force Officier to form an International School choir that could perform at this event. Though organizing and leading a choir was quite difficult, things were smoothened out when several friends of mine from Seoul Arts School joined the choir and helped us with our technical singing abilities and Korean for foreigners in the choir. Hence with people from Yongsan International School and Seoul Arts School, the official choir for the ROKAF SAMA Friendship Dinner was formed.

The overall event was successful. The two songs that we sang, Aegukka(애국가) and We Are the World were received with a warm welcome from the audience.
