What a relief.
I can testify that Junior year is indeed the hardest year in high school (at least so far). The academic rigor on top of demanding responsibilities really pushed me to the limit this year. Although there have been many struggles and doubts along the way, I'm immensely grateful that I was able to finish the notoriously hard year with great memories and unforgettable lessons. To the future Emily Dhong who may be reading this, I hope you are proud of yourself because you really did try your best.
Below are some of the awards/recognitions that I received this year. To me, the experiences that I was able to have prior to the awards are more valuable to me than the awards themselves. In fact, I think the most treasured lessons and experiences that I was able to have cannot be contained in a piece of paper; it's all stored close to my heart, where I believe will flourish for a very long, long time.
Among the awards, the EARCOS Global Citizenship Award along with the Guardian Award are the most prestigious ones. EARCOS Global Citizenship Award is given to one person in the entire school. The recipient should be a proud representative of his/her nation while respectful of other nations and caring for the global community. I was stunned when I was given this unexpected recognition. Next, the Guardian Award is given to one person in the entire grade. He/she should represent the spirit of the school and have the characteristics of discipline, service, and leadership. Thank you YISS for another memorable year :)
