On March 3rd and 4th, we had the last KAIAC tournament of the year. On March 3rd, Friday, I participated in Impromptu and was nominated as Finalist. On March 4th, Saturday, I participated in Lincoln Douglas for the first and got first place. This was a very unexpected award, for I had only tried LD debate because I didn't have a partner for Parliamentary Debate, which I was used to doing for a number of years. Frankly, I did not even imagine that I would get into the Finals. However, by allowing myself to step out of my comfort zone, I discovered a new area of interest that I had never considered before! I hope to pursue this topic and continue striving for the best.

Another fact that made this tournament more special was that it was our first tournament without masks since COVID-19 struck. It felt natural yet strange at the same time. I was glad to have a freedom that I would have considered obvious or given a few years ago.

Here's a picture of my tightly-bonded Forensics Team!

The picture below is meaningful to me because all of my teammates spectated my final round as an act of encouragement. They believed in me even when I didn't believe myself. If anything, I think this is a true definition of a team.
