On October 15, I participated in the very first KAIAC Forensics competition this year hosted in SIS. Different from last year, we drove to the hosting site as a team and competed with pens and and paper. It was a strange, new feeling to be there physically rather than to hide behind the computer screen. Though I expected to be much more intimidating as a face-to-face debate, it was exhilarating to see my opponents and the judges in real life. I was also able to interact with numerous people from different schools and make new friends. This was a feeling that I much missed, as we had continued online debate competitions for three years due to COVID. I anticipate this year to be a fresh new start with the new environment. My partner, Claire Lee(9th), and I won 3rd place in parliamentary out of over 20 teams from different schools. Although it was our first time debating together (My original partner from last year, also Claire Lee(10th), was not able to attend this meet due to cross county meet), we had great coordination!
